The 2009 Annual Conveniton was held in Fergus Falls, Minnesota on June 14 through 17. It was a wonderful time of worship, prayer and discussion.
Lutheran Brethren Seminary hosts J-Term every year. It is a time of training for church leaders and a chance for continuing education and renewal for our pastors in the Church of the Lutheran Brethren. Learn more and download and stream the sessions at lbs.edu.

WATCH VIDEO > The new role of the Regional Pastor is the closest that the constitutional amendment will get to you and your church. However, the Regional Pastor will have no direct authority over your pastor and your congregation. He will be a cultivator, facilitator, encourager, and serve as a link for you to various resources.

My three year old daughter feels the need to constantly remind me about her needs as if she's worried that I won't provide for her. Shouting "Daddy, I need milk!" as I am pouring her a glass. Asking me for the third time, "Daddy, help me with my shoes," even though I'm in the process of bending over to help her. Am I doing the same thing to God when I worry about what I will "eat or drink"?

An important “first” under this new structure took place September 16-18, as the Council of Directors came together in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. It was a time of prayer and discussion, as we looked to God for guidance in the first steps of implementing the new provisions of the amended constitution. Also meet the Regional Pastors!

The wonderful thing, above anything else, is that the Council is a group of leaders who desires to see the work of the Church honor and glorify God. God is the true leader of the Church, his Church, and we are merely a group of men and women who pray that we will be faithful to his calling.

An Unpleasant Conversation?

Stewardship and the joy of giving is talked about in Christian circles, but it’s often an unpleasant conversation as the speaker feels awkward asking for money and the listener has conflicting feelings of guilt and defensiveness. How would the topic of giving sound if it was brought up in the midst of a unified vision and mission within the body of Christ?

Not many things bring a bigger smile to my face than looking into a room and seeing my four-year-old and two-year-old playing together. No pushing, no shouting, no angry looks... just pure imagination and giggles of excitement. I wonder if it's the same for God? When he sees his children working in harmony, faithfully serving him in the Great Commission, does he feel joy? Would that bring a smile to his face? I think so.
